Duluth, Georgia was named after Daniel Greysolon Du Luth (1636-1710), who was a French captain and explorer. He negotiated and signed peace between Saulters and Sioux nations in the area of the city of Duluth on September 15th, 1679. In 1818, Gwinnett County was created by an act of the General Assembly of Georgia and the area was opened to the settlers. In 1833, Evan Howell determined that more roads needed to be built, so he obtained permission to construct a road from the Chattahoochee River across his land to intersect into Peachtree Road, with the intersection being named Howell’s Cross Road. The railroad was an enormous boost to the Duluth economy. Duluth is unique today in that Gwinnett county, as well as portions of Forsyth County and Johns Creek, use one of Duluth’s zip codes.
Duluth is home to Gwinnett Place Mall, the Arena at Gwinnett Center and Gwinnett Medical Center. The Gwinnett Arena hosts all sorts of musical concerts from all genres in addition to a Christmas performance and is also the home of the Gwinnett Gladiators, which is a professional minor league hockey team. Duluth is also home to Sugarloaf Country Club, which is a very prestigious golf community and has been home to the AT&T Classic for a number of years.
Duluth has a little bit to offer for everyone so it’s of no surprise that you or a loved one might be visiting the Duluth area in the near future. If you or a loved one do visit the Duluth area, and happen to be in an automobile or trucking accident, please remember that throughout this chaotic time, there is a law firm that will help. Accidents are very scary, painful and chaotic and most of the time, situations arise where only time will heal those who are suffering. However, if you or a loved one are involved in an accident, you are entitled to your fair share of a settlement.
Settlements are always a very unique package and it is hard to understand if and how you got what you actually deserved. Insurance companies train their employee’s to contact victims immediately after an accident and try to offer them a very low figure while everything is confusing and chaotic. Many people fall for this trick and jump all over the amount offered because they haven’t had time to meet with anyone else. Please don’t fall victim to insurance companies tactics, they will not offer you what you and your loved ones deserve.
